One common thread in Michael’s career and personal life has been his desire to help other people. Michael started his career as a financial professional working for a not-for-profit fraternal benefits society where he helped families protect their assets and plan for their future. He then moved into a position with New York Life Insurance Company and NYLife Securities where he spent time educating clients and helping them make informed planning decisions about their insurance, investments, social security, long term care, and legacy. Michael excitedly joined Hunter Street Investment Advisors in 2021.  Michael is a graduate of North Carolina State University, having earned a Bacholers of Science Degree. He also holds the following FINRA qualifications: Series 6, Series 63, and Series 65 and Fraternal Insurance Counselor Fellow (FICF) designation. Michael holds insurance licenses for life, health, long term care, and Medicare supplement plans. He has earned his Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP) designation through The American College of Financial Services.

Michael was born in Connecticut, about 50 miles up the coast from New York City, and at the age of 17 moved to North Carolina to enroll in N.C. State.  It was at N.C. State where Michael met his wife to be, Lesley. They have been happily married and living in Apex for the last 21 years. Along with their 3 children: Patrick, Keri, and Sean, they recently moved into a new home in New Hill. The entire family are very engaged at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Apex.

His faith, family, and sports are what consume most of Michael’s time.  It’s not unusual to see one passion spill over into the other. Michael has coached his children’s T-ball and church league baseball teams for over a decade now.  He also teaches faith formation to middle schoolers, and he and his wife are active in several other ministries. He serves on the School Advisory Committee at his youngest child’s school. Additionally, Michael is a proud member of the Knights of Columbus where his volunteer efforts help many charitable causes, the dearest to his heart being the LAMB Foundation of North Carolina which provides help to people with intellectual disabilities.
